ABOUT FLUXE

We are FLUXE, a specialty tea + botanical workshop. our love of tea started years ago, but our appreciation of the craft wasn’t realized until our time working in specialty coffee. To understand the dedication + tireless effort of small producers + farmers opened our eyes to the ancient + vast world of tea.

as a husband and wife team, we set out to share the meticulous craftmanship + delicate beauty of truly special single-estate teas and hand-blended botanicals tisanes.

TO US, SPECIALTY TEA REQUIRES TRANSPARENCY TO MAINTAIN RESPECT FOR THE PRODUCER AS WELL AS INTEGRITY OF THE CRAFT. THIS CAN BE TOUGH IN A WORLD AS VAST AS TEA. OFTEN, WE FIND STORIES OF MYTH AND LEGEND SURROUNDING TEA CLAIMING CERTAIN LOFTY CHARACTERISTICS OR BENEFITS + IT CAN BE DIFFICULT TO PARSE THROUGH THE SOMETIMES DECEPTIVE MARKETING. tHIS IS NOT TO SAY WE DISCREDIT THE CULTURE + HISTORY BEHIND A TEA MAKING PROCESS OR GROWING REGION. WE MUST ALSO ENDSURE THAT CERTAIN CHARACTERISTICS INCLUDING TERROIR, PRODUCTION STYLE, VINTAGE, TEA MAKER, + OTHER CLARIFYING TRAITS ARE PRESENT SO OUR EFFORTS ARE SUPPORTING PROPER PRACTICES.

WITH THAT SAID, we are passionate about tea, BUT we ARE not tea masterS. we don't claim to know everything. Our goal is to share the love of tea and craft beverage with everyone. We want to connect local + global communities aLL WHILE respectING the efforts of small producers + tea masters.

OUR PRACTICE

the word “fluX” refers to the action of flowing or moving through a surface. of course, tea is a liquid and it flows, but the idea of movement and constant change is a fundamental part of our values. We operate FLUXE with a goal of constant forward movement, even if it’s in small increments.

“flux” is also a common term in physics and typically relates to magentic flux. so, next time you pick up a box of FLUXE Tea, look for the symbol for magnetic flux hidden in the design.
